IP-VFC Release Notes

Release notes for every IP-VFC firmware version are below. Each entry lists what changed, where to download it, and which Designer versions it runs on.

We recommend using FW 26.2. It brings the widest format support and significant stability improvements. It works in both ST 2110 and SDI workflows. It requires Designer r34.1 or above.

If you are using an earlier Designer version, the interoperability tables show which release to use instead.

To complete the update, you will also need the firmware updater tool, which is on the Resources page. To install a version or roll back to an earlier one, follow the IP-VFC firmware update guide.

Firmware 26.2

⬇️ Download (21.3MB) · Requires Designer r34.1+

  • Supported on the GX 3, GX 3+ and VX 4+, for both ST 2110 and SDI. Not supported on the VX 2+ or VX 3.
  • IP-VFC support extended to the GX 3+ and VX 4+.
  • GX 3 supports all the standard IP-VFC formats for SDI and ST 2110.
  • SDI streams start more quickly and more reliably.
  • SDI output aligns more tightly to external sync, and between quad outputs.
  • Major performance and stability improvements.

  • Supported on the GX 3 only, for ST 2110 with PTP. Not validated for the GX 3+, VX 4+, VX 2+ or VX 3, and not supported for SDI. Use FW 24.4 for any of those.
  • Significant improvements to the robustness of failover on ethernet interfaces when using ST 2110 with PTP.
  • Fixes a bug where after the link on the redundant ethernet port went down it could fail to come back up.
  • Fixes a bug where applying feeds with certain ST 2110 formats would result in an unstable genlock signal.
  • Improved startup reliability.
  • Improved reliability of applying feeds when using PTP sync.

  • Partial support only. For ST 2110, the GX 3 and VX 4+. For SDI, the GX 3, GX 3+ and VX 4+ in Single mode, with Quad mode behind the enableIPSDIExperimentalModes option switch. Not supported on the VX 2+ or VX 3.
  • Improved jitter, with the NCO source amended to EXT sync.
  • Resolved a PTP lock selection bug.
  • Improved card startup behaviour.
