Designer Pro Subscriptions
Getting from a Designer Pro subscription to a licensed machine runs across MyDisguise and CodeMeter. This page is the route through it, and each step links to the page that covers it in full.
If you are still deciding, the Designer Licensing Comparison tables set Designer Starter, Designer Pro and the X Series licenses side by side.
Designer Starter needs none of this. It is free, the license is built into the installer, and you only need a MyDisguise account to sign in to d3Manager. See Designer Starter.
Subscribing and activating Designer Pro
Section titled “Subscribing and activating Designer Pro”1. Create an account and join an Organisation
Section titled “1. Create an account and join an Organisation”Sign up at my.disguise.cloud with an email address and a password, or with your Google credentials. MyDisguise then asks you to join your team before anything else, and you can join an Organisation whose email domain matches your own or create one of your own.
Subscriptions and licenses belong to the Organisation rather than to you personally, so it matters which Organisation you are in when you buy.
Getting Started with MyDisguise
2. Subscribe to Designer Pro
Section titled “2. Subscribe to Designer Pro”Open Browse Products in MyDisguise and choose Designer Pro, then Select Plan. Set QTY to the number of licenses you need, and choose Monthly or Yearly billing. Yearly billing is discounted against monthly.
Pay by card or by invoice. A license is issued once the payment is processed, so a card payment gives you the license straight away and an invoice gives you it once the payment clears.
3. Download and install Designer
Section titled “3. Download and install Designer”Designer Pro uses the Full installer, which you download from Downloads in MyDisguise. Install it before you activate, because license activation needs the CodeMeter Runtime and that is bundled with the installer.

4. Activate the license in CodeMeter
Section titled “4. Activate the license in CodeMeter”Activation happens in CodeMeter rather than in MyDisguise. Deploy, in the license details panel in Subscriptions & Licenses, opens CodeMeter for that license.
Do this at the machine that will hold the license, or with its dongle attached, and decide where the license will live: on a USB dongle, or on the computer that runs Designer. A license can be moved from one to the other later. Your browser will ask whether to let CodeMeter reach the CodeMeter service on the device, and you need to allow it for the activation to complete.
X Series licenses take the same route, but can only be held on a dongle.
Once activation completes, the license is listed in CodeMeter Control Center on that machine, and Designer can launch projects there.
Designer Licenses and Activation Process
After activation
Section titled “After activation”An Owner or an Admin assigns a license to someone in the Organisation, and reassigns it when a different person needs it. Removing someone from the Organisation unassigns their licenses automatically, so a leaver does not have to be dealt with first.
Subscriptions and licenses both start as Unnamed, so naming them is worth doing once you have more than one.
Renewal and cancellation are handled at subscription level rather than per license, because everything in one subscription shares a renewal date.
